Week in Review: We Remember and Create History

The news was just as hot as the weather.

Long Valley just ventured through a holiday-shortened week, absorbed all the sun there was to be had, and began dealing with the inevitable summer heat that is quickly forcing its way into our atmosphere. It feels like just yesterday we were complaining about how cold it is!

As usual, there was plenty of news to know about, so in case you missed it, here’s a quick recap.

West Morris Central’s last team standing in the state playoffs was eliminated on Tuesday, as the Wolfpack Softball team fell to Colonia in the NJSIAA North II, Group 3 semi finals. Courage to Connect NJ, an pro-municipal consolidation group, held a forum at the Washington Township Library on Wednesday and explained the benefits of multiple towns coming together to form one municipality. Finally, Long Valley Patch learned about a group of female students from West Morris Central High School who will be attending the National History Day competition in Washington D.C. June 12 to 16. The students created a documentary about the Little Rock Nine, which was chosen as one of two projects to come out of New Jersey and be submitted for the national competition.
