Leonard Lance scored a hat trick Tuesday, beating his political rival and fellow Republican David Larsen in the Primary Election for the 7th Congressional District.
According to nj.com, the Hunterdon County resident defeated the Tewksbury businessman, and will face Democrat and Clinton Township Mayor Janice Kovach in the November General Election.
This was the third consecutive Primary Election in which Larsen challenged Lance for the representative spot. Lance won in 2010 and 2012 as well.
The seventh congressional district covers parts of Warren, Hunterdon, Somerset, Morris, and Union counties. While Larsen won Morris County by nearly 800 votes, Lance nearly doubled his challenger’s tally in Union County.
The General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014.
