Fifth Grade Leaders Help Raise Money for Twp. Food Pantry

In an effort to help community, students raise nearly $200.

The fifth grade class at Old Farmers Road School finished the school year off with a bang, making a major difference in the community.

The grade’s peer leaders wanted to give back, and chose to support the Washington Township Food Pantry at Long Valley Presbyterian Church.

As a result of their efforts, the leaders not only collected canned goods and other donations, but brought in $186 in funding for the food pantry.

"As the summer months are a historically lean donation time for the food pantry, the students' efforts and donations are greatly appreciated," Food Drive Coordinator Margie Carberry said.

Anyone looking to start their own food drive for the pantry can contact Carberry at jmkmcarb@embarqmail.com.
