Long Valley Girls Cut 20 Inches of Hair to Help Cancer Patients

Sisters, Scouts send locks to Pantene's 'Beautiful Lengths' program to make wigs.

A lot of long-haired folks take the curls down a notch during the warmer weather months for a variety of reasons.

But for Haley and Lexi Bishop of Long Valley, they didn’t do it to keep cool. Their reason was to help others.

Inspired by a friend and fellow Long Valley resident, Haley, 11, and Lexi, 8, went to the Village Salon in Long Valley on Friday, July 18 and had a combined 20 inches of hair cut from their locks.

The reason? To donate to Pantene’s “Beautiful Lengths” hair program that constructs wigs for women who have lost their hair while undergoing cancer treatments.

The duo, also Long Valley Girl Scouts, are wearing their shorter hair proudly this summer, knowing they’ve made a difference for someone else.
