Louisa Oualim’s trophy shelf is starting to get pretty full.

The West Morris Central senior received her second Music Student of the Month award for November from the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown after being nominated by her music teacher, Carol Meiseles.

Oualim, along with three other students from Morris County, were honored during a performance by Itzhak Perlman at the Center.

The students were recognized for achievements on stage before the concert, according to the Center’s website, and had the opportunity to meet Perlman, a classical violinist, afterward.

Oualim is part of the school’s Orchestra, Baroque Orchestra and String Orchestra. She is also this year’s concertmistress. The student was recognized with the same award as a junior back in February this year.

In May of 2012, Oualim was part of a team that won at the New Jersey competition of National History Day.

The other students honored by Mayo PAC – all females – were from Randolph, Morris Hills, and Madison High Schools. Oualim's award certificate was autographed by Perlman and pianist Rohan De Silva.
