Cookie Crunch: Best Baked Goods Named at Green Market

Residents submit holiday cookies in annual contest.

Locals took to the Long Valley Green Market recently to test their cookie-baking skills in the annual holiday competition.

A number of winners were named across various categories, but Lola Eudy took home the judges’ choice prize for her Hot Cocoa Cookie.

In the butter, sugar category, Susan Petriano was named the winner, and Eudy also won first place for her gingerbread cookie.

Devon Gifis and company (her three daughters) won the “Chockful” category with their loaded chocolate chip cookie creation. Finally, in the “Grandmas” category, Shannon Rice took home the top prize for her turnovers.

The Long Valley Green Market is held Thursdays from 3 to 7 p.m. at 20 Schooley’s Mountain Road.
