The Annual Cub Scout Blue and Gold Dinner

On Saturday February 25th, 2012 Pack 36 had our annual Blue and Gold Dinner at the B.A. Cucinella School, where 13 Webelos Scouts were awarded the Arrow of Light. The boys that were awarded the Arrow of light included; Alex DiPaolo, Lars Gartelmann, Christopher Gieda, Nicholas Fleming, Daniel Murphy, Tyler Torner, Clayton Bernardi, Joel Bradshaw, Nikolas Constantino, Ian Dalgleish, Luke Degen, Luke Kelly and Joshua Michonski.  The Arrow of light is the highest award that a Cub Scout can achieve and normally requires up to 5 years to work up through the ranks of cub scouting. All of the 13 scouts have decided to join one of Long Valley’s Boy Scout troops to continue their journey in scouting.

This year's Blue and Gold dinner also included the annual Father / Son cake baking contest. To enter this contest a scout had to make and decorate a cake with their father without any other help. The cakes were judged by all of the attendants of the dinner and the 3 winners were; Hudson McFarland, Anthony Pescatore and Jack Murphy. In addition, Ms. Cheryl Burger, the owner of the Sweet Spot Bake Shoppe in Chester, was the guest judge and selected the cake prepared by Jack Ciavolella as the judge’s choice.
