Long Valley Mom, Animal Lover, Dies at 44

Lisa Czyzewski is survived by her husband, daughter, and a large extended family.

Considered an “angel on earth” by those who knew her best, Long Valley lost a longtime resident this weekend as Lisa Czyzewski, 44, succumbed to her battle with cancer.

Czyzewski died on the morning of Jan. 11 at her home. She was a registered nurse in the Neonatal Unit at St. Barnabas Regional Hospital in Livingston.

The beloved wife and mother had an affinity for all animals and enjoyed helping others. She met her husband, Pete, in middle school, and the two have been together ever since.

She is survived by her husband, daughter Rebecca Rose, father Jerry Nieto, two brothers, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral mass will be held Thursday, Jan. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church in Long Valley. Burial will be held at Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows following the Mass.

Visitation will be held at Cochrane Funeral Home in Hackettstown on Wednesday, January 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
