Inappropriate (religious) curriculum in Long Valley Middle School

Long Valley Middle School is requiring all 7th grade students to pay $30 each to see A Christmas Carol, and is devoting an entire Language Arts unit to the book.  This subject is inappropriate for a public school curriculum, as evidenced by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future being allegories for the father, son and holy spirit, not to mention Christ in the title itself, etc.  Religion has no place in public school.  Oliver Twist is also showing at a community theater and is one of many alternate works by the author, which would be more appropriate for public school.  Please keep religion out of our public schools, by emailing the Principal, Mr Ippolito at mippolito@wtschools.org, demanding he change the curriculum for next year and to keep the subjects appropriate in the future.  Thank you!
