Neighbors Reach Out, Offer Hot Meal Friday

Local real estate company serving free dinner at First Aid Squad.

Dear Clients, Family, Friends and Neighbors:

I hope you’re doing as well as can be expected under the challenging circumstances created last week by Superstorm Sandy and our upcoming storm, due to arrive today.

I’m aware that many people in our area are still without power. If you’re among them, and you could use a  hot meal, some warm company and a place to charge up your electronic devices/phones, we’d like to invite you to dinner tomorrow night (Nov. 8).

We will be hosting a free pasta dinner for area residents on Friday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Long Valley First Aid Squad, 70 East Mill Road, Long Valley, 07853.

Please feel free to forward this information to someone you know who may be in need. If you’re among the lucky ones with power and doing well, you’re welcome to join us and help make, serve or clean up from the pasta dinner. There’s no need to RSVP. If you have questions, please feel free to call us at 908-451-4676.

We look forward to seeing you.

Editor's Note: A previous version of this letter stated the dinner would be Thursday. It has been moved to Friday.

Thanks to Kelly for stepping up and organizing this event. I have to wonder why Washington Township itself did not begin doing the same and more days ago for all of the residents without power and warmth. While a few places have been open, others with power could certainly have been utilized as well. Best wishes to Kelly and all of her helpers for making a difference to needy residents.
