What's For Lunch on a School Day?

Everyone has opinions. Patch is the place to share them.

Each week, Long Valley Patch asks a new question with its Moms Talk column (not just for moms, though), and seeks the answers and opinions of parents in and around Washington Township.

Now that the first full week of school is upon us, we want to know about your children's cuisine during the school day. Do you send them with a bagged lunch always? Do they eat the cafeteria food on a daily basis? Or is it some hybrid, bag lunch unless there's something great on the menu?

Also, if you send the kids with a lunch, what's in the bag?

For my two, it's always lunch from home. (They're picky eaters) What do I pack? Everything from sandwiches to soup, with pretzels, raw veggies, a piece of fruit, and perhaps a cookie or muffin.

Letting my son buy everyday seemed so convenient until I realized what he was eating everyday...not much better than fast food places...now we pack unless there's no time (or nothing in the fridge :-0)...I wonder if anyone else here would be interested in a "food revolution" ?

@Jennifer, how do you keep the soup from spilling or spoiling?
