115 Seatbelt Tickets Given By Twp. Police

Click It or Ticket campaign resulted in 11 arrest in Washington Township.

, participating in the “Click It or Ticket” campaign from May 21 through June 1, issued 115 seatbelt violation tickets, according to Lt. Doug Compton.

During the 80 hours of additional law enforcement, funded by a state grant from the New Jersey Highway Traffic Safety in the amount of $4,000, officers made a total of 11 arrests, Compton said. 

The arrests were for a driving while intoxicated, four for controlled dangerous substance, one for contempt of court, one for criminal mischief, and two for hindering apprehension.

In addition to the seatbelt tickets and arrests, there were four speeding violations, five driving while suspended summonses, and 118 tickets for other non-moving violations.
