There are plenty of great ways for the community to come together, but in Washington Township, a time-honored tradition stands among one of the best.
With three fire companies under one department in town, Washington Township’s volunteer firefighters are always looking for ways to work with the community. One event, the pancake breakfast, joins residents together in a family style setting to help raise funds for the fire company.
Over the next two weekends, residents will have the opportunity to attend a pancake breakfast at the Schooley’s Mountain Firehouse or the Fairmount Firehouse.
On Sunday, March 2, Schooley’s Mountain will host its pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon. The all-you-can-eat affair includes pancakes, sausage, eggs and pastries. Children ages four to 10 are $4; seniors are $6; and everyone in between is $8.
The following Sunday, Fairmount Firehouse will offer another all-you-can-eat event from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.
All fire companies are 100-percent volunteer run and operated and all proceeds from the events benefit the fire companies directly.
