Cops: Driver Left Scene of E. Mill Rd. Crash

Three cars and a bicyclist were involved in the Wednesday night accident.

A Long Valley woman has been issued a slew of driving summonses and a court date after leaving the scene of an accident Wednesday night that injured two others, police said.

The motor vehicle crash, which took place just after 9 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of East Mill and Bartley Roads, involved three vehicles and bicyclist, Lt. Doug Compton said.

Kathy Salvemini of Bangor, Pennsylvania, was heading west on East Mill Road when Angela Tsakiris of Long Valley pulled out in front of her from Bartley Road, Compton said.

Salvemini then swerved into the eastbound lane to avoid contact with Tsakiris’s vehicle, and hit Thomas Macintyre of Long Valley, who was driving in that lane, Compton said.

Simultaneously, Luis Monterrosas-Silva of Long Valley was struck while riding his bicycle on the eastbound shoulder, Compton said.

Cpl. Robert Oranchak arrived at the scene and learned that Tsakiris had left before police arrived, Compton said. Tsakiris was then located at her residence and was uninjured, Compton said.

Macintyre had injuries to his arms and was transported to Morristown Medical Center by the Long Valley First Aid Squad. Monterrosas-Silva was also transported to Morristown Medical Center for a back injury.

Tsakiris received motor vehicle complaints for careless driving, failure to yield right of way at an intersection, failure to report a motor vehicle crash, and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash.
