Cops: Hackettstown Teen Stole Credit Card at Target

Accused made pizza delivery charge with stolen property.

A Hackettstown teen was arrested and charged after stealing a credit card and committing identity theft, according to .

A Mt. Olive township resident reported to Washington Township Police that she had fraudulent charges on her credit card. An investigation revealed that the victim had made a transaction at the Target retail store in the Hackettstown section of Washington Township, and that the card was stolen then, according to police.

Matthew Davis, 19, of Hackettstown, who was employed by Target, stole the card in December of 2010, and made several purchases on it, including a pizza delivery to his residence, police said.

An arrest warrant was secured for Davis, and Washington Township Police made the arrest at his residence without incident. Davis was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card, credit card theft, and identity theft.

Bail was set at $5,000 with a 10 percent option. Davis posted his bail and was given a date to appear in court. Leading the investigation was Washington Township Police Detective Cpl. Lucas Allen.
