Cops: Long Valley Teen Stole Bike

The following arrest information was supplied by the Hackettstown Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 16-year-old Long Valley boy stole a bike in Hackettstown and tried lying about it, Hackettstown Police Det. Darren Tynan said.

The teen, whose name was withheld because of his age, took a bicycle worth more than $200 from the Hackettstown Community Pool on June 16, Tynan said.

During an investigation of the theft, the teen contacted a friend and asked that person to be an alibi and lie to the police, Tynan said.
