Cops: LV Teen Caught With Pot For Third Time

The following information was released by the Washington Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two Long Valley teens were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana on Wednesday, and for one, this was the third time in less than three months he was charged with such a crime, according to Lt. Doug Compton.

Shikhar Mishra, 19, was stopped by officer Michael Thompson on Bartley Road for improperly passing another vehicle, Compton said. When Thompson spoke with Mishra, he smelled the odor of raw marijuana coming from the car, Compton said.

Thompson’s ensuing investigation revealed two zip-lock bags of marijuana, Compton said.

Mishra and his passenger, Mark Charles, 19, were arrested and taken to police headquarters.

This time around, Mishra was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia along with a motor vehicle complaint for failure to keep right and possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Charles was also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
