Cops: Octogenarian Causes Three-Car Crash

The following information is from the Chester Township Police and does not indicate a conviction.

An 80-year-old Chester woman caused a three-car accident on June 18, said.

According to police, Patrolman Stephen Notte responded to a three-car motor vehicle accident on Route 24 at the intersection of Cooper Lane.

Notte’s investigation showed that Joan Corcoran attempted to pass a pair of stopped vehicles on the right in her Ford Taurus, police said. Corcoran struck the right rear of 55-year-old Chester Resident Mary Isnard’s Acura MDX causing Isnard’s vehicle to strike the rear of a 2001 White Dodge Dakota operated by 47-year-old Kathleen Reidinger of Long Valley, police said.

According to police, Corcoran was transported to Morristown Hospital by Chester First Aid Squad and was issued a summons for improper passing and has a pending court appearance in Chester Township Municipal Court.
