Cops: Pa. Man Drove Into Califon River

The following arrest information was supplied by the Washington Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

An Easton, Pa. man crashed his car on Academy Street in Califon Monday night, and was found to have consumed alcohol prior to the wreck, Washington Township Police Lt. Mark Niemynski said.

Officer Kirk Griffin responded to a call that a vehicle was overturned in a river, Niemynski said. When Griffin arrived, he located the vehicle 25 feet off the roadway, overturned in a stream, Niemynski said.

The driver, Skyler Andrews, 21, was already out of the vehicle when Griffin arrived, Niemynski said. A subsequent investigation showed that Andrews had consumed alcohol prior to the crash, Niemynski said. A blood test was also given at the hospital, Niemynski said.
