Cops: Vehicle Owner Lied About Identity

The following arrest information was supplied by the Washington Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 26-year-old Long Branch man was arrested after trying to lie about his identity during a motor vehicle stop on Mission Road, Washington Township Police Lt. Mark Niemynski said.

Officer Michael Hade stopped a Ford minivan on July 25 for having a fake Pennsylvania registration, Niemynski said. Hade then determined the passenger was also the owner of the vehicle, and the passenger tried giving the officer a fake name and date of birth to hinder his identity, Niemynski said.

The owner of the vehicle, Uelton Honorio, was arrested on a charge of obstruction and taken to police headquarters, Niemynski said. The driver of the minivan was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, Niemynski said. The vehicle was impounded for being unregistered and uninsured, Niemynski said.

It was later determined the owner took license plates off another vehicle and placed them on his minivan so it could be used, Niemynski said.
