Cops: Woman Stabbed Man With Scissors, Wood

Early morning dispute ends in arrest and aggravated assault charges.

A Hackettstown woman allegedly stabbed a man with a pair of scissors and piece of broken wood early Thursday morning and was charged with aggravated assault, Hackettstown Police said.

Police responded to a residence on Canal Way in reference to a reported dispute at 2:30 a.m., Det. Darren Tynan said. Upon arrival, police found Jacqueline Borroto, 43, and discovered she allegedly used a pair of scissors and a piece of broken wood to stab a man in the chest, abdomen and arms, Tynan said.

Borroto was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. She was lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 bail.

The man, whose name is not being released, was treated by the Hackettstown Rescue Squad at the scene. He was not hospitalized, Tynan said.

Police would not release information pertaining to the cause of the dispute or the relationship between Borroto and the victim.
