Dead Woman Found Behind Hackettstown Lowe's Store, Cops Say

Identification expected to be released Monday morning, police said.

A dead woman was found behind the Lowe's store on Mountain Avenue in Hackettstown Thursday night, Hackettstown Police Sgt. Darren Tynan said.

An officer was on routine patrol in the area around 10 p.m. on Jan. 9 when he drove behind the retail store and came across the body of a 56-year-old woman lying in the roadway, Tynan said.

The body was located near the tree line separating the store's delivery area and River's Edge apartment complex, Tynan said.

Tynan said he expects to release the name of the woman Monday morning after an autopsy has been conducted and next of kin have been notified. Police do not believe there was any foul play involved.
