Driver Snaps Utility Pole After Sliding Off Kings Highway, Cops Say

Pennsylvania woman sustained minor injuries and was charged with careless driving, police report.

A Pennsylvania woman sustained minor injuries when her car slid off the roadway during a heavy downpour on Friday evening, Washington Township Police said.

Beth Jonas, 24, was driving northbound on Kings Highway near the Cobblestone Road intersection just after 6:30 p.m. when her car, a Honda CRV, slid off the roadway to the right, striking and snapping a utility pole, which then caused the car to flip onto its roof, Lt. Mark Niemynski said.

Jonas was charged with careless driving and complained of a shoulder injury, but did not receive medical attention, Niemynski said.
