A fire gutted a Flanders home Wednesday morning, just hours before the new owners were set to move in, Mount Olive Police said.

The two-story Colonial on Flanders Netcong Road caught fire at about 4:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Fire units were able to extinguish the blaze and determined there was nobody inside the residence and no reported injuries at the scene.

Mt. Olive Police and the Fire Marshal on scene were able to make contact the homeowner, who had recently purchased the house and was set to move in within hours.

The police statement said the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Mt. Olive Police, Flanders Fire Units, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and the Morris County Sheriff's Office. Authorities said so far they've found nothing suspicious and the damage caused by the blaze has left the building uninhabitable.
