Hackettstown Cops Searching For Suspected Bank Robber

Chase Bank in Hackettstown was scene of the crime on Feb. 18.

A suspected bank robber is being sought by the Hackettstown Police Department after an alleged robbery at the Chase Bank at 227 Mountain Avenue in Hackettstown on Friday, Feb. 18.

Hackettstown Police arrived at the bank at 2:49 p.m. on Feb. 18 after a reported robbery. Officers determined the male suspect left on foot and headed south from the bank.

The suspect has been described as a male between the ages of 30 and 35, with a slim build, between 5’4” and 5’6" inches tall. Witnesses said the suspect had a scruffy face with a mustache, blonde/grey hair and was wearing a white long sleeve thermal shirt, tan cap and sunglasses.

According to police, there was no weapon shown or a threat of a weapon. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the bank according to police.

The Hackettstown Police are still searching for the suspect and are asking that anyone with information or that might have seen something suspicious in the area of the Chase Bank during the time of robbery to contact the Hackettstown Police Department at 908-852-3302.
