Hackettstown Police Give 135 Seatbelt Tickets

Click it or Ticket campaign results in hundreds of summonses for various violations.

The 2012 Click it or Ticket campaign to crackdown on drivers and passengers not wearing seatbelts has officially ended, and Hackettstown Police issued hundreds of summonses.

Among them were 135 tickets issued for drivers, front seat passengers or backseat passengers not wearing safety belts.

Within the same two week period, two speeding tickets were issued, seven warrant arrests made and one fugitive apprehended, according to Det. Darren Tynan.

Tynan also reported that three driving while intoxicated arrests were made, three drug arrests, three suspended drivers, seven uninsured drivers and 123 tickets for other moving and non-moving violations, Tynan said.
