A Long Valley man has been arrested in connection with a residential burglary on Fairview Road earlier this month, Washington Township Police said.
Police responded to the residence on Saturday, Oct. 12 just before 6 p.m. after receiving a call of a burglary that took place that afternoon, Lt. Art Adams said.
Officers and township K-9 Cliff responded to the area and conducted an interior “track” for the burglar, Adams said. An investigation revealed the burglar entered the home through a broken sliding door in the back of the house, Adams said.
Items stolen included multiple pieces of jewelry, cash and a video game totaling $6,150, Adams said.
Further investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for William Gallucci, 20, and charges for receiving stolen property were lodged against him.
Twelve days later, on Oct. 24, Gallucci responded to police headquarters after being informed of the warrant, Adams said. He was processed and jailed in Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 bail with no 10-percent option.
The incident remains under investigation.
