Long Valley Man Accused of Burglarizing Ex-Girlfriend's House

51-year-old was also given a temporary restraining order after being arrested.

A Long Valley man was charged with burglary, harassment, criminal mischief and defiant trespassing after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s house, according to a news report.

The 51-year-old, who was not identified by Clinton Township Police because the matter was considered a domestic violence incident, used a ladder to gain access to his ex-girlfriend’s home, nj.com reported.

He then used a knife to cut the window screen and get inside the home on Sept. 5, the report said.

The victim fled the home after hearing a loud noise and called police from a neighbor’s house, according to the report.

The Long Valley man posted $750 bail and was given a temporary restraining order, the report said.
