Hackettstown Man Accused of Having Sex With Girl, 13

Edgar Perez-Garcia, 20, has been charged with second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

A 20-year-old Hackettstown man is accused of having sex with a girl he knew was 13 years old, police said.

Edgar Perez-Garcia was charged Thursday with second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

According to Sgt. Darren Tynan, Perez-Garcia had sexual intercourse with the girl on about 15 occasions between October 2012 and May 2013. Perez-Garcia knew the girl was 13 years old and continued to have sex with her on about five more occasions, Tynan said.

Perez-Garcia is being held at the Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail with no 10 percent option.
