Man Arrested on Aggravated Assault Warrant

The following arrest information was supplied by the Washington Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Washington Township, Warren County man was arrested in Long Valley Sunday on an outstanding aggravated assault warrant from that town, Washington Township, Morris County Police Lt. Mark Niemynski said.

Local police were notified by the Washington Township, Warren County police department that Stephen Jones, 37, may be visiting a home on West Mill Road, and that he was wanted for aggravated assault, Niemynski said.

While on patrol, officer Roger Garrison saw Jones driving through the center of town and conducted a motor vehicle stop, Niemynski said. Garrison took Jones into custody and turned over to the Washington Township, Warren County police department, Niemynski said.
