Officers Light The Way for Special Olympics

Three Washington Township cops take part in law enforcement torch run for Special Olympics.

Three of Washington Township's finest continued an annual tradition last Friday, participating in the 30th Annual PBA Torch Run for Special Olympics.

Officers Adam Feichter and Kirk Griffin, along with Lt. Doug Compton, took on a five-mile run from Washington Township (Warren County) and ended at the ShopRite in Mansfield, where they handed off a torch to another set of law enforcement officials.

The Washington Township Police Benevolence Association donated $250 to the Special Olympics, and were given a plaque by Steven Matuszek before the start of the run. The opening ceremony was held at M&M Mars in Hackettstown.
