A Long Valley woman was sent to the hospital after a two-car collision on East Avenue in Washington Township Thursday afternoon, according to police.
Sgt. Brian Szymanski responded to the scene in front of First Hope Bank at 5:18 p.m. and found two cars had collided at the entrance of the bank, Lt. Art Adams said.
An investigation revealed Doreen Hatter, 51, of Andover was traveling north on East Avenue when Thomas Kietrys, 72, of Long Valley pulled out of the bank’s parking lot, Adams said.
Kietrys was attempting to cross both lanes of travel by making a left, and was struck by Hatter, Adams said.
Kietrys’s passenger, Deanne Kietrys, 71, of Long Valley was taken by ambulance to Hackettstown Regional Medical Center for evaluation. Thomas Kietrys was issued a summons for careless driving.
