PBA Fishing Tournament Comes to Koehler Pond for Local Kids in June

Young fishers up to 12-years-old can take a shot at grabbing the biggest catch.

It’s that time of year again, when kids from around town can take their best shot at catching the biggest fish.

The Washington Township Police Benevolence Association is hosting its annual Fishing Derby at Koehler Pond on Saturday, June 21 from 9 a.m. to noon. Fishers from Washington Township and Califon Borough up to 12 years old are invited to participate.

Prizes will be awarded in three age groups: five and under; six to nine years old; and 10 to 12 years old.

No registration is needed and fishers can check in when they arrive at the pond. Refreshments are available as well. For more information contact Det. Michael Hade at 908-876-8307 or Derek Heymer at 908-876-3232, ext. 1428.

Leave Kohlers pond alone.. it's bad enough idiots come and catch Sun Fish by the bucket load, now we are encouraging killing all the bass that live there. Another pond destroyed by over fishing and people leaving their trash everywhere.
