Police Seeking Convenience Store Robber

Masked man struck Sunrise Dairy in Hackettstown Thursday night.

Police are looking for a man who robbed the Sunrise Dairy convenience store on Route 46 Thursday night and fled on foot, Hackettstown Police Det. Darren Tynan said.

Just before 10 p.m. on Oct. 6, Hackettstown Police responded to a report of strong-arm robbery at the convenience store, Tynan said. When officers arrived, the robber had already fled on foot heading north toward Maple Avenue, Tynan said.

The robber is described as a thin male, 5’8’’ tall, and was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt with the words Washington D.C. on it, Tynan said. The robber was wearing dark colored, loose fitting, checkered pants, white sneakers with blue stripes and a black mask, Tynan said.

The robber did not show a weapon, and an undisclosed amount of money was taken from Sunrise Dairy, Tynan said.

Police are asking that anyone with knowledge or information about the incident contact them at 908-852-3302.

Assisting at the scene was the Hackettstown Detective Bureau, Independence Township. Police Department and K-9 Unit, Mansfield Township Police Department, and the Washington Township Police Department.

Another robbery at the Shell Gas Station, near the Sunrise Dairy, . Police are still searching for that robber as well and are still investigating any relationship between the two incidents.
