See 'Jaws of Life' Demo at First Aid Squad Open House

Community will have opportunity to tour rigs, ask questions of emergency service volunteers.

The all-volunteer Long Valley First Aid Squad often goes unnoticed in what it does for the community.

On Monday, May 19, the community will have the chance to see what the men and women of the Squad do when called out for an emergency.

Located on East Mill Road, the Long Valley First Aid Squad will host an open house from 6 to 9 p.m. with complimentary hot dogs and refreshments for guest. Anyone coming by the open house can also tour the rigs and building.

The main event, however, will cut into the action at 7 p.m., as a jaws of life demonstration will be held. Squad members will use the apparatus to break through a vehicle and save a victim, as is done in real-life situations.

The First Aid Squad building is located at 70 East Mill Road.
