UPDATE: Arson Investigators Looking Into Squire Hill Road House Fire

Blaze extinguished within a half hour.

The Morris County Prosecutor's Office Arson Unit is joining Washington Township Police to investigate an overnight fire at a Squire Hill Road home in Long Valley.

A 24-year-old resident of the home called 911 at 2:50 a.m. to say he'd woken up to the fire, according to a statement from the prosecutor's office. Both the resident and his girlfriend were able to escape uninjured. 

The Schooley’s Mountain Fire Department, Fairmount Fire Department, Long Valley Fire Department, Budd Lake Fire Department, Chester Fire Department and the Flanders Fire Department all responded to the scene. The Morris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Section also responded and is assisting with the investigation.

The prosecutor's office has not released further information on the matter, as it remains under investigation.
