Teen Tried Stealing Shoes at Target, Cops Say

Asbury resident attempted leaving with $120 in goods, police report.

An Asbury teen was arrested for allegedly attempting to steal a variety of goods from the Washington Township Target Department Store, according to Police Lt. Doug Compton.

Dennis Padilla, 19, was being held by Target security on Oct. 5 when Officer Michael Thompson arrived on scene, Compton said. The alleged shoplifter was attempting to leave the store with $120 worth of shoes, Xbox Live cards and cellular phone cases, Compton said.

Padilla was given a criminal complaint for shoplifting and released.
