Traffic Delays Expected on Fairmount Ave. for 2 Weeks

Resurfacing project will cause lane closures, detours from Highland Avenue to county line.

Delays and varying traffic patterns are expected during a repaving project on Fairmount Road that will last two weeks, starting Tuesday.

The Washington Township Police said Schifano Construction Corp. will resurface the 2.24-mile stretch of Fairmount Road near Highland Avenue to the county line at Tewksbury.

The project will begin Tuesday with work done for approximately two weeks between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Traffic will be alternated with lane changes during the initial phase of the project, which will be basin and inlet repair, police said.

The second phase will involve milling the existing pavement and the third stage will involve paving the roadway, police said.
