Twp. Committee OKs New Police Cars

Governing body passes resolution to purchase or lease four new vehicles for the Washington Township Police Department.

A resolution to purchase four new police vehicles was approved on Monday, Feb. 21 at the Washington Township Committee’s regular monthly meeting.

It is still undetermined as to whether or not the vehicles, which cost $25,080 each, will all be bought, leased, or a mixture of the two options.

At the committee’s monthly work session, held Wednesday, Feb. 16, the governing body . The availability of funds for car purchase is $80,000 for 2011.

The –purchase or lease–will be determined later in the budget process, according to Washington Township Mayor Ken Short.
