Murderer Didn't Push Wife Off Cliff, Scientist Says

Washington Township's Stephen Scharf is planning to appeal his murder conviction.

If Jody Ann Scharf was pushed to her death from atop a bluff in Palisades Interstate Park in Englewood Cliffs in 1992, she would not have landed the way she did, according to physicist Jim Kellinger.

Scharf’s husband Stephen was convicted in 2011 for pushing her off the cliff, although her death was considered accidental until a Bergen County Prosecutor reopened the cold case.

But Stephen Scharf, formerly of Washington Township is currently serving a life sentence in state prison and planning an appeal, according to CBS 2 news. Kellinger disputes the previous claim that Jody Ann Scharf was pushed.
