Colorful Characters Enjoy Parks & Recreation Party

Dozens of children celebrated Halloween at the Senior Center hosted by Washington Twp. Recreation Committee

The Washington Township Senior Center was decorated with pumpkins, festive orange string lights and balloons on Monday, Oct. 25 for a children's Halloween party, sponsored by Washington Township Parks and Recreation.

Around forty pre-school through fifth-grade children attended the event, several dressed in full costume. The kids were served apple cider and pizza by a group of Long Valley Girl Scout volunteers and enjoyed painting ceramic pumpkins, taking turns at hitting a piñata, and having their faces painted.

Washington Township Parks and Recreation has sponsored a youth Halloween event for the past five years. Recreation members notify parents about their Halloween parties through school flyers, emails, and online event listings and require parents to register online and pay a small fee in advance.
