Crosswalk Installed on East Mill Road

Pedestrians now have safe walkway between malls.

A by the Washington Township Department of Public Works across East Mill Road between the Long Valley Village and Valley Professional Centre after nearly a year of organization and preparation.

Three of the department’s workers and Washington Township Police Sgt. Doug Compton directed traffic and laid down parallel strips of adhesive tape, six feet apart, to mark the safe walking area.

The tape was laid in three-foot sections, then sprayed with a blow torch to help stick to the pavement. The project took approximately three hours to complete, and did not interrupt or redirect traffic on the roadway.
