Paving Project to Shut Old Farmers Road in August

Largest of 2013 resurfacing projects scheduled to begin Monday, August 5.

The largest of three road-paving projects in Washington Township is set to kick off Monday, August 5, and will shut down a stretch of roadway connecting two large thoroughfares in the southern portion of town.

Old Farmers Road between East Valley Brook and Parker Roads will be closed to through traffic, and only available to residents who live on that stretch of roadway, according to Washington Township Police Lt. Doug Compton.

Top Line Construction will be performing the work that will mill and pave 3,350 feet of roadway and could last up to three weeks, Compton said. Police officers will be stationed at the intersections of East Valley Brook and Old Farmers Road as well as Parker Road and Old Farmers Road.

The township put a total of $478,000 toward road repair projects this year, which would be allocated to Old Farmers Road, a portion of Wehrli Road, and a portion of East Springtown Road.
