Proposals Sought for Animal Control Services

Washington Twp. has received one offer from an outside vendor thus far.

Washington Township officials discussed contracting for animal control services at a committee work session Wednesday evening.

According to Teri Lyons, the clerk’s office manager, the town is receiving and reviewing quotes for the position. Assistant administrator Andrew Coppola also indicated that the township is looking to surrounding towns as well for proposals.

They’re hoping to receive inquiries from outside contractors to serve the municipality as the animal control provider through a professional contract.

“We’ve received one proposal on an outside contract,” said Coppola, who spoke hurriedly on the matter before the mayor and committee began discussing the upcoming retirement of Fire Inspector Bruce Tynan.

In the coming days, they hope to delve into the matter further, reviewing and sorting through proposals.
