UPDATE: Roads Stay Closed Due to Obstacles

Reservoir Road added to list on Tuesday morning.

Many roads throughout Washington Township are still closed or blocked due to flooding or obstacles as of 8 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, according to Washington Township Police Lt. Mark Niemynski.

The following roadways are still closed:

  • All Bridge crossings from Rt. 57 into Washington Township except for Newburgh Road
  • UPDATE, 6 p.m., Aug. 30: Kings Highway is now open, all trees and wires have been removed.
  • Stepehensburg Road (Tree across wires and road)
  • Bartley Road between Naughright Road and the Town Line with Mt. Olive. (Power line issues)
  • North Four Bridges Road between Bartley Road and Laketown Road (LONG TERM CLOSURE DUE TO EROSION)
  • Camp Washington (Tree across wires and road)
  • East Avenue (Flooding but receeding, possibly open later today)
  • Black River Road (Wires and trees)
  • West Springtown (Wires across road)

  • Reservoir Road from Setting Sun Way to to Rt. 46 closed (Tree and wires across road)

Over in Hackettstown, roads are still completely flooded and impassable. According to Hackettstown Police Det. Darren Tynan, those roads include:

  • Rt. 182 (Mountain Ave) the northbound slow lane is closed between East Avenue and Mall Dr.
  • East Avenue is still closed between Rt. 182 (Mountain Ave) and Rt. 46 (Washington Township) due to flooding.
  • Bilby Road (Rt. 665) is closed at Willow Grove Street (Rt. 604) due to flooding.
  • Rt. 604 (Willow Grove Street) is closed between Bilby Road (Rt. 665) and Waterloo Valley Road due to a tree limb on wires.
