Should Twp. Property Taxes Pay for More Services?

Do you feel like the municipal portion of your property tax bill is giving you enough bang for your buck?

If you own a home in Washington Township (or anywhere), you pay property taxes. About 16-percent of your overall property tax bill goes to the township directly, and the remainder is split between school districts and the county.

Washington Township's municipal taxes cover police personnel, fire and emergency responders' equipment and apparatus, municipal employees at town hall, and members of the department of public works.

But services like garbage and recycling pick up along with water and sewer services are separate, among other things.
