County College of Morris Searching for New Trustees

Three positions are available.

Morris County residents interested in serving on the County College of Morris Board of Trustees are invited to send their resumes to a special search committee appointed by the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

The resumes must be received by the search committee by Aug. 9.  The committee will review all of the applicants and submit its recommendations to the freeholders, who make the final appointments.

The four-year terms of three freeholder-appointed trustees expire at the end of October.  These trustees must reapply by the Aug. 9 deadline if they wish to be considered for reappointment.

A candidate must also be willing to commit at least 15-20 hours per month to his or her duties as a college trustee.

Those duties  include appointing, supporting and evaluating the college president; clarifying and, if necessary, revising the college’s mission; ratifying long range plans; approving the college’s educational program; insuring fiscal viability; and maintaining the physical plant.

The CCM Search Committee requests that resumes be accompanied by background information and a statement from the applicant outlining why he or she wishes to serve as a trustee and what specific skills the applicant would bring to the board.

Applicants are asked to send eight copies of their resumes, accompanied by the brief statement explaining why they would like to serve, to: Trustee Search Committee, Office of the Morris County Counsel, County of Morris, P.O. Box 900, Morristown, NJ, 07963-0900.
