Cucinella Kids Collect Can Tabs to Help Families of Ill Children

Donations will be sent to Ronald McDonald House.

When considering the weight of a can tab is miniscule, collecting 75 pounds of them is pretty extraordinary.

But that’s exactly what the students at the Benedict A. Cucinella School did this year. All five grades – kindergarten through fifth – brought in can tabs throughout the school year. The end result was a whopping 75 pounds.

The students will now send the tabs off to the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia as a donation. Ronald McDonald House will receive funds for the can tabs, which will then be used for various services for families who stay in the area while their children are treated at nearby hospitals.
