Interior Design Problems

Interior Design problems will be discussed on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 7 p.m. at the Washington Twp. Public Library, 37 E. Springtown Rd., Long Valley, NJ.

Local interior designer, Joyce Lahmidi, will discuss her philosophy of how to approach interior design. She will describe ten steps to follow and will go through them to help the attendees simplify the interior design process.

She creates design with a hands-on approach to re-purposing items in the home, and using paint and crafts to create decorative items and furniture that is truly memorable and incorporates the personality of the homeowner. She will discuss basic design principles as she goes through the list, such as color, balance, form, layout, traffic patterns and scale to help people make sense of the process. She will also reference historical data to show where our style of living evolved from and what the current trends are, and where we expect design to head in the coming years.  She will also discuss what decorative painting can do to help you solve design problems in your home
