Only One Contested Seat for Local School Boards

Four seats on both boards to be voted on.

The deadline for petitions to run for a seat on the Board of Education was Tuesday, March 8 at 4 p.m., and while no seats in the Washington Township District are being contested, there is one up for grabs in the West Morris Regional High School District.

John Meyer, school board representative from Washington Township to the high school district, will be running for a one-year term after he was appointed to his seat in November.

Cristen Forrester, the current board president, will be running for a three-year term as a Washington Township representative. Forrester’s status as the board president will be voted upon at the reorganization meeting on May 2, the first meeting following the April 27 election.
